The Coven.
Not a support group. Not a group chat. Not a "you're so brave" circle.
A coven. The people who run the method together. Who say "I'm not fragile" and mean it. Who say "set the shelf" and actually set the shelf. Who know that survival mode is still winning and that the path is not to pretend the suffering isn't real.
This is where the Way of the Lupus Vampire lives. Not in a book. Not in a protocol PDF. In the people. In the Tuesday. In the 3 AM "something changed" text that gets answered by three people who say "I see you, here's what to do, and here's the 11:45 salt water reminder."
We don't do soft here. We do method. And method includes showing up for each other when the body says no.

The Coven Fund is a voluntary mutual aid initiative. It is not a nonprofit, insurance provider, or medical organization. Funds are distributed periodically based on stated need, available balance, and internal review guidelines. Disbursements are not guaranteed. Donations are not tax-deductible unless routed through a fiscal sponsor.
The balance is visible to all Coven members. Every disbursement is logged. Every application is reviewed by three members. No black box. No "the committee will decide." You can see the number. You can see who received. You can see when the next cycle is.
This is collective strength from within. Not a charity. Not a handout. A coven that says: when the body says no and the money says no, the coven says yes.
What it covers:
Medication gaps (the month Plaquenil ran out and the bridge wasn't covered)
Mobility needs (the walker, the cane, the knee brace that insurance "considered")
Travel for care (the 4-hour drive to the rheumatologist, the gas, the hotel night)
Adaptive equipment (the grab bars, the shower chair, the jar opener, the "I can't open my own cans anymore" reality)
Emergency stability (the week you can't work and the rent is still due)
How it works:
You contribute what you can. $5. $20. $11.11. Whatever. No minimum. No guilt.
You apply when you need it. One page. What you need. Why. How much. How long.
The Coven reviews. Not a committee of twelve. Three vampires who've been in the Coven six months or more. They look at stated need, available balance, and internal guidelines.
Disbursement. Direct. Not a check in the mail with a letter that says "we hope this helps." A transfer. A Zelle. A Venmo. The money is in your account. You buy the knee brace. You fill the gas tank. You pay the bridge.
You report back. Not a essay. A sentence. "Bought the brace. Hands are better. Thank you." or "Paid the bridge. Made the appointment. The flare is managed." That's the report. That's the loop closing.
Transparency
You are not a diagnosis. You are not a spoon count. You are not a flare frequency. You are not a "wow, you're so brave" conversation at a dinner table.
You are a vampire learning the exact parameters of your existence.
A vampire does not argue with the sun. A vampire maps the sun. Respects its power. Moves in shadow. A vampire does not fight the body like it is an enemy. A vampire reads the body like a text. Listens to the signal. Regulates the input. Builds the terrain.
This is not war. The Codex says it on page one: "They will hand you war language like a sword: fight, defeat, crush, destroy. But lupus is not an invader at the gate. It is a misfiring guardian."
So we are not warriors. We are vampires. The warrior fights. The vampire maps. The warrior bleeds and calls it honor. The vampire bleeds and calls it data. The warrior says "I'll be back." The vampire says "I'll be back, and I'll know the threshold by then."
This is the Way. This is what the Coven holds.
